1st Lt. Stanley Gerald (Jerry) Hartson, Born 25 APR 36

From Marianna, FL, is listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall 01E 006

Service #3081675   While flying as a SAC KC-97 tanker pilot, Jerry volunteered for duty with 1st Air Commando Group.  He went to Vietnam in Oct 61 and was shot down on a low level leaflet-dropping mission Feb 11, 62, age 25.

He was awarded the, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, South Vietnamese Gallantry Cross, Fifth Order of Merit - RVN National Order 5th Class Ribbon Republic of Vietnam medal awarded to persons living or dead who have done grandiose works, remarkable deeds, or exhibited bravery. Also for those who have honored and served the country by lofty virtues and outstanding knowledge.

His parents are Stanley W (Charter member of the post) and Phyllis Hartson, of Winter Park, FL

Post 6146 Homosassa Robert P Brownell joined our camp, unsure of the date, but Robert lived (4 Oct 1941 - 30 Nov 1994) USN
